The Biggest Loser 3 - Episode 5 Recap
My pre-TBL prayer:
“Please God, let Heather, Pam, or Kai get kicked off this week. If you cannot make that happen, please at least save the Blue team from facing elimination. I’d even be happy if Heather or Kai sprained an ankle… anything, God. Thank you.”
Here we go…
The teams are walking to the gym, talking about how anxious they are to get there. Only to find a chain and padlock with a sign saying “GYM CLOSED”. Bobby broke in by sliding open a window, and Kim and Bob came jogging up saying, “No, you can’t go through the window!”
The goal is to break up the routine… fantastic! The blue team is in the backyard, where Bob tells Amy that since she’s the only woman on the team, if she’s going to win, she’s going to have to play like a man. M-hm.
Kim starts talking about “the real world” with stairs inside the house, squats, and outer thigh leg lifts. Kai claims she’s going to become a gym rat when she gets home. A-yeah. Sure.
Kim was noticing their physical differences… Pam put on a shirt with just an “L” on the tag, no “X”.
Bob was talking to Erik - trying to motivate him, encourage him to think about how he CAN do things he couldn’t before, get his mind out of the way and just know that he needs to keep pushing. He’s lost 50 pounds so far, and he couldn’t even walk the first week. Now he’s jogging at a nice clip. :) GO NEW YORK!!!!! :)
TBL @ HOME - IDAHO - Linda
214 - 167 She’s kicking BUTT! She looks amazing, and wants to let women that it CAN be done over 50!
Back in Cali…
El Pollo Loco meal out. Talking about the real world… what’s going to happen when they get home. They weren’t scared anymore… they asked questions and made the right choices. Nice work!
Challenge
Now they’re in a football field. The LA Colosseum. Talking about hearing from home…
On the big screen, they show videos from home. Bobby’s wife and daughter first. Then Erik’s daughters. Then Pam’s kids and husband. Then Brian’s wife and daughter.
The challenge is that they’re going to do “the wave” from one end of the stadium to the other - 510 waves each. Then they have to run down the stairs and hit the finish line. Then they get workout gear.
Bob and Kim show up to inspire and motivate them. Bob won the race to the team over Kim… nice work!
First they run all the way up to the top of the stairs. then they all sit, then do the wave, and move down a seat. WHO THE HELL CAME UP WITH THIS!?!
The red team isn’t standing when they do the wave… they stand, move, sit, and put an arm in the air. Now the blue team is doing that. Red team is ahead by like 40, and they’re saying that they’re falling behind… duh.
Ken’s sitting there wiping his face off. Blue team IS catching up and are only behind by 6 as we go to commercial. Pam says she wants to punch Ken in the face or something similarly rude.
Red team decided they were going to move ahead of Ken. So much for teamwork, eh?
Blue team is finally going to win the challenge!!!! They’re running to the finish line, and decide to stroll across the tape. I can’t believe they did it, I’m so proud of them!
Red team finished, and Pam got pissy. Talking about draggin her bloody stump across the finish line or something… I dunno.
Back at the ranch - they go into the kitchen and there’s a chef - the author of the TBL cookbook. She showed them ways to make pizzas on whole wheat tortillas and burgers with lean ground beef and whole wheat buns. *Note to self: Buy the cookbook!
Last chance workout, the blue team is moving furniture. Red team’s using bands along the fence.
In case you all forgot - I hate Heather and Kai.
C’mon BLUE!!!!!
Red goes first:
Kai - down 5
Ken - down 6
Pam - down 3 (she acted like it was 30)
Heather - down 3 (Ha! Bitch.)
Wylie - down 9!!! (he’s the only one I want safe on the red team!)
Total - 26 - 2.14%
Blue team needs to lose more than 30 lbs. *yikes*
Bobby - down 4
Marty - down 7
Brian - down 6
Amy - down 4
Erik - down 7
Total - 28
Red team won the weigh in. Damn. Damn. Damn. I hate this.
Brian’s got immunity for the second week in a row. I so deeply hope they don’t send Erik home… he NEEDS to stay at the ranch. If it came down to people who I think could do it alone? Bobby. I love the guy, but he can do this.
Bobby thinks Marty is the biggest threat… Erik’s crying… talking about how he needs to stay. Marty’s crying, saying he fears getting back into the routine of “the old Marty”. Bobby says, “I knew exactly what I was doing, now… I’ve got a knot in my gut. I don’t know…”
This is gonna be a rough one. I’m getting the tissues.
Marty votes for Erik based solely on numbers.
Amy votes for Erik based on the desire to be strong and stay out of the elimination room next week.
Erik votes for Amy because he feels she’s very young and able to go home and succeed. Amy’s shocked.
Bobby votes for Amy based on the fact that “the game has started” and he needed to choose the person who was best to remove for his own success. He says it was a change at the very last minute.
Brian votes for Amy.
WOW.
She’s shocked, doesn’t understand, says she’s upset. It doesn’t make sense to her even how it’s going to help them in the game. She lost 41 pounds, she doesn’t get it. She tried smiling through the hugs.
Caroline said that she didn’t believe their reasons. Brian said, “She KILLS herself for those 4 pounds every week. And it’s going to slow down even more.”
He’s right.
Amy went home saying she’s ready for the real world, she knows she’s changed.
She’s lost 88 pounds since she first got to the ranch. She looks and feels AMAZING! She’s going to be one to watch when the finale comes along. She’s in a size 10 already. Damn.
In the closing, they said something about “In two weeks, they will rejoin the game.” Caroline says, “Say hello to your new competition.”
It’s either those voted off coming back (which I doubt) or a team of @Home people… I can’t wait!
