The Biggest Loser 3 - Episode 4 Recap
Alright, here we are for yet another week of “Let’s Get Rid of The Red Team Girls!” Whooo-hooo!
*snickersnort*
Red team’s in in a bad place… gee, I wonder why. Kim’s pissed.
Blue team? I’ve never seen Bob get so excited about the red team losing someone specific. He’s THRILLED Nelson’s gone. He wishes him the best, but he’s glad he’s gone.
Kai doesn’t want to work out with the team, she wants to be left alone. Wahhh. Kim tried to hug her, and Kai told her “Don’t, I’m not that kind of person.”
None of them want to work out. Wah, again.
Kim: “Run, Kai.”
Kai: “No.”
Kim: “You want to get sent home next week, Kai?”
Kai: “Send me home if you can, Kim, but I’m not running.”
Holy crap. These people just don’t give a rat’s ass.
Heather yells at her, telling Kim to “Go!”
Kim starts crying - her team’s falling apart, and then pulls out this “tough girl retracted” play.
Kim: “It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to feel human.”
Kai’s crying.
Heather’s crying.
Wah.
Do these people not remember that THEY DID THIS TO THEMSELVES??? Instead of playing the elimination like a team, they played games and lost. BIG TIME.
TBL @ Home - Chris - WV - 56 lb loss. Not bad, just take your mind off the girls in your aerobics class and bust a move, pal.
Temptation (Immunity) Challenge - eating?!
They had to put plates up on this stack after eating whatever was on the plate. The red team girls stated that whoever got the pass out of them, they would share it with one of the other girls. “One of our plates was always on top.”
Damn, Kai got it.
Kim’s telling these people that she’s got body image issues.
Yah.
Right.
“I moved around alot as a military brat. I know how you guys feel, I’ve busted my ass to have this body. I didn’t want to tell you this, because you would just tell me to shut up or whatever,” wah’s Kim.
Apparently, this worked for her. She got the team to back down and feel like she’s bonded with them. How, I’m not sure, but it worked. So we are made to think… we’ll see what happens later.
*Praying for a red team elimination round.*
Kim wants to give the team a treat: Chocolate.
Oh yes, let’s satisfy our emotional downfalls with chocolate. Great way to retrain behavior patterns, Kim.
Yes, it’s “low fat”, the “Jell-o Berry Bliss” but HELLO!? BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION, PEOPLE!!
Challenge
Blue team is desperate to win this one.
Endurance challenge - walking up a downward escalator. Whichever team members are still standing in the end will split $10,000. Reminds me of the first season’s stationary bike challenge. Winner chooses also whoever stands out the weigh-in on the blue team.
Brian’s not running, he’s nursing an injury and they needed to drop someone anyway to make the teams even. Marty wants this so bad - he’s a teacher in Mississippi, ten grand is a WHOLE LOTTA GREEN for him.
This is hell to watch - the eternal stairmaster.
Eric - from NY is having a reallllly hard time, but Ken (red team) jumped off after a minute and a half. Eric dropped off after 2 minutes.
Melinda (blue team) is out.
Wylie (red team) is out.
Three members of each team still on, Kai wants out. Get off, bitch.
Bobby jumped out.
I’m starting to wonder if this is a “get it over quick” strategy. If everyone backs out quickly, and leaves only one member of their team up, then you’re banking on just that one person from the other team to bail… rather than bailing out when there’s 3 others up there for the other team, and you’re leaving just one on yours.
Heather’s whining. She’s gone. No wait, she’s back.
Damn, Amy’s out - Marty’s the only blue team member left.
Heather’s crying, Kai told her to jump out. She’s gone.
Marty (blue) versus Pam (red).
Pam says she can feel her body shutting down, she’s hyperventilating (huh?) and she can feel her whole body just going numb. Marty says he had to use his arms and hands to push his legs down “and sometimes to pull them up to the next step”. Unbelievably, Pam looks like she’s in a mental and physical trance.
We watch Pam stumble as we head into a commercial. Time for me to pee and refill my Diet Coke.
9 minutes into it, and Kai’s shouting “this will pay for your baby’s diapers” up to Pam. Marty’s dropping back on purpose, to freak Pam out.
SHIT! Marty dropped off, Pam collapsed at the bottom.
Kinda cool, Marty and Pam hugged and Marty gave her credit for it.
Bob’s freaking out, thinking they won the challenge. “We’re oh-for-four!”
But he thinks they’re going to win the weigh-in.
Both teams busted ass in the workout.
Weigh-In
Red team chose Marty’s weight to not count. Makes sense I suppose. Blue team goes first.
Marty - lost 7lbs.
Brian - lost NINE! (With a freakin’ injury!)
Amy - lost 4lbs.
Eric - lost 6lbs.
Bobby - lost 5 lbs.
Melinda - lost 2 lbs.
Total 26lbs / 1.92%
That’s it - if Blue team goes to elimination, Melinda’s gone.
Red team needed to lose more than 23lbs. to win. 5 lbs each.
Pam - 5
Wylie - 5
Kai - 5
Heather - 5
Ken - 10
Crap. Again.
Total 30lbs / 2.41% lost
DamnDamnDamnDAMN D-A-M-N!
Brian’s got immunity.
Kim called her team dysfunctionally functional. Cute. *yak*
The blue team’s afraid of letting Bob down. He gives them an emotional pep talk over eliminations - they’re hard, but do this as a team. Good idea. Or the red team WILL take their revenge, dammit.
It’s going to be Melinda, and I have a feeling she’s going to agree with them. She’s not a very “open” person as it is…
Brian voted for Melinda (with his heart and his love, and the knowledge that they are going to go home and do it).
Amy voted for Melinda (she loves her and looks up to her, but it’s strong vs. weak)
Marty voted for Melinda (he called her a quiet warrior)
Melinda voted for Bobby (she says that it’s because she knows he’s strong and could do it on his own).
Bobby’s crying, telling her he loves her. She’s gone, since Bobby can’t vote for himself, and this way no one else can get three votes.
Melinda says she’s leaving proud of herself, and feeling great about her future. She’s learned to believe in herself.
She’s lost 26 more pounds at home, she’s looking better, that’s for sure. She’s running, eating right, dieting and exercising, and being healthy. She’s lost a total of 53 pounds, that’s pretty damn good chica. Way to go!
Next week: The gym’s locked down, they can’t get in. Woah, baby!
