The Biggest Loser 3 - Episode 3 Recap

They’re on a cruise… and afraid of the unknown. *giggle*

Bob’s got the blue team circuit training, pushing them to work quickly. Kim’s got the red team swimming like mad people… for an HOUR!

Brian (blue) is having a problem with his knee, and wants to show people that you really can still work out when you’re injured if you do it right.

The buffet - boiled string beans. Mmm. That’s what Bob told them to choose. He did advise that you should circle the lineup first, which is something I always do. Make your choices as you go along, and plan it out before you load up your plate. Kim mentioned choosing the smaller plate, of course, which is another good idea, and both teams only made ONE trip up.

{Personal interjection: My take on buffets is this; They’re almost always serving the same food every time, right? So your favorites will be there next time, as will the things you didn’t get to try this time. There’s no valid reason, when you’re at a buffet that costs $12 or whatever, to “get your money’s worth” or ensure that you eat everything on the buffet. Load up your plate with no more food than you’d get if you ordered a meal at a regular restaurant, and then eat only half of it.}

Husband’s a jerk, he’s not attracted to her, blah blah blah. But apparently she feels she needed to hear it. She’s lost about 30 lbs so far.

Challenge Time

They had to relay - each person had to take a tray to their family member who was located somewhere on the ship, get them to sign, and go back so the next person could go.
It was so absolutely adorable when Marty’s wife yelled “I love you! Go! Go! Go!” They didn’t get to talk to them, just serve them, get the receipt signed and run back. How crazed.

Bobby couldn’t find his way to his wife. He got lost, and freaked out about it. She too said “Go, go, go!”

Haha… Heather (Utah) couldn’t find her husband in the spa, so she was asking everyone - running around yelling, “I NEED A SIGNATURE! SOMEONE PLEASE!” She asked the receptionist, who refused. She started swearing and running around, rather than try to figure out if she was in the right spa, or the right place. She panicked for sure. I almost wish someone let her break the rules so that even if the red team was fastest, they’d all be disqualified. Bwahahah… Once again, I’m siding with the blue team, baby!

Once she served her husband, she was telling the other passengers, “Get out of my way, this is an emergency!” while on her way back. Rude bitch.

Eric took his time with his wife, because he knew that their team was going to loser… that’s kind of messed up.

Crapola - red team won the challenge. They get to spend the evening with their family member - the blue team had to immediately say goodbye. :(
Marty blamed himself because he got lost…
We got to see a pic of Brian from 10 years ago - holy crap he was a hottie!
Eric’s wife said he looked younger.
Bobby wanted to jump off the boat and follow his wife.

Although I’m not fond of the red team, Ken melts my heart. He said that he and his wife just spent the first 15 minutes looking at each other.

The blue team went for a walk/jog around the ship’s track to let off some steam. Every time they lose the challenge, or what have you, they go work out. I love those guys!

The Weigh-InI’m starting to see some results physically - not much, but a little.

Red Team: -29 pounds, 1.77% total lost
Blue Team: -50 pounds!! YAHOO!! 3.07% total lost

Ken was the one with all the pressure. He had to lose more than 24 pounds to take the red team to victory, and being that he’d lost 20 the week before, it was so unbelievably obscure a thought that he’d have lost 25 pounds this time (keep in mind, it’s not a 7-day week, it’s more like a 12-day week, but still). He lost three, and felt like crap about it. I’m thinking the entire red team suffered for the time spent with their families rather than working out, to be honest.

Unfortunately, Heather’s got immunity and can’t be voted. Pam thinks that if they split, the blue team will get rid of her. Heather tells Ken to side with the girls and vote off Wylie. The guys try to bond together and choose a girl to get rid of.

Heather’s annoying. Wylie called it, they’re playing each other against each other, and Kai had told him that they want a girl to win. It’s not about who’s the best to keep on the team, or who’s able to do it on their own or needs to stay, it’s about having a girl win? That’s messed up, girls. I distinctly remember at least one of you voting off Jen - so what the hell is this girl power thing you’ve concocted now?

Wylie was 4th to vote, and voted for Pam after all the girls voted for him. He was crying. Pam started crying when Nelson voted for her. Ken was the one who was attempted to be wrangled in by the girls - but he voted for Pam. She called him a bastard. I’m proud of him for not succumbing to the demands of Heather.
Wylie - 3
Pam - 3

Blue team chose NELSON!!! They said the only reason was because they chose the biggest threat. The girls showed shock, but moreso relief, because they thought the blue team would’ve chosen Pam. Kai was hyperventilating, and made me want to smack her. Plus she looked enormous in that hideous babydoll shirt. I can’t take it… Nelson was trying to choke it back, but was having a hard time, and everyone else was sobbing hysterically. Short of wanting to smack Kai in the face, I noticed that we never saw the look on Wylie’s face once he found out he was safe… but as sad as it was, it was the team’s fault for trying to force votes. That’s NEVER worked. Don’t these people watch the damn show? Now the girls have to deal with Wylie AND Ken, after they called them both names, and tried to get Wylie off the show. Serves them right to lose their friend for all their petty bullshit.
Nelson lost 39 pounds on the ranch, and another 13 at home - he’s at 352 now, and says he wants to lose about 100 more. Since that weigh in at home, he’s recommitted to working out two times a day.

I must say I’m relieved that the show’s only an hour long now… those first two weeks of 2 hour long episodes was tough to get through. (Plus now, my recaps will be shorter! How come no one’s commenting!?!) ;)
