Two hour premiere - 8pm EST on NBC

Okay, so some of you might not know that I’ve been a semi-finalist for the show the past two seasons.

The first one, I was told, got me to the “Top 12″ females prior to the final selection where they chose the six who made it on the show. Last December, I was called by the show and told that there was a new producer who saw my old tapes and photos and wanted to meet me, and they asked me to come down to the city (NYC - 4 hrs by train - super easy to get to for me) to do another on-camera interview with two PAs and to meet the producer. Of course, I went (and dragged my Dad and my friend Bryon with me!)
This time, I brought all my photos, the application they asked me to fill out (again), all the release forms and everything they sent me, and decided that holding back was not an option. I didn’t want to be “different” than last time, because I’m not different really. I’m still me, and still overweight by 100 pounds or so. But I had to be relentless here… ;)

Of course, it was the same as the first time. Both of the PAs (one male, one female) were telling me how beautiful they thought I am, and asked me if I was telling the truth when I gave them my weight. (Apparently, I don’t look like I weigh what I do?)
I heard back nothing… I think it’s probably because they’ve gone with this new format this year, where they chose one person from each of the 50 states. I’m excited to see the show, and see how things go with so many contestants.

Would I interview again, or still go on the show if they called me back for next season? You bet your sweet bippie. Is it a little disheartening that I’ve been so close, yet never called back? Yep. Does that mean I hate anyone, hate the show, or feel like boycotting? Absolutely not. If there’s one thing being in the modeling and acting world has taught me, its not to take things personally when you’re not chosen. And as long as the show’s airing, and as long as I’m still overweight, I’ll still strap on my running shoes to get to any interview they ask of me!
