Shocking Truths - Part One

I’ve been doing some thinking lately (it’s one of the things I do when I’m over-worked and need to de-stress) and there’s just a lot in my life that I need to fix.

I was looking through some old photos yesterday (trying to find some to do some art-play with for MySpace, and after a dear friend told me that he didn’t think I was capable of taking a bad photo (I love you for that! LOL)) and noticed that even as little as 3 years ago, I was looking better than I do right now. Less double-chin, less “bloated” looking… just all around better (despite only being maybe a size smaller). I really need to focus my energies on two things the most: My weight and my work.

Yes, I’ve been single for quite some time. But that old, tired line keeps ringing through my head, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you always got.”

It’s time to pump up my life. I’m the only one who can do it. I need to do it.

First I want to put the first task on the table, so I want to share with you some of the horrid photos that were taken around my 30th birthday celebrations. These were only 2 months ago, and trust me, nothing’s changed. (The last one is a little older, but not by much… and I wanted to show my face.)

I warn you - these aren’t pretty… LOL But I have to be honest about things if I want to really do this right.

So um, yeah. Quite different than even these:

I need to do some major work in this area of my life - no bones about it. So it’s on with the schedules and calendars and planned menus and all that jazz. I’m feeling really raring to go - with the gorgeous sunny weather we’ve had this past week, I want to be out and about in it, and not feel heavy, hot, and bloated.

Stay tuned for Part Two when I tackle the work life stuff. The funny thing is that this all goes hand-in-hand and I’m trying to really focus on EVERYTHING, but do it in small steps. So we’ll see what happens! :)
