Birthday weekend is over… Time to snap out of it.

Okay, so all the dining out, singing by waitstaff while bringing me dessert, all that mess is over. I gained three pounds in the last week, and it’s time to get my ass on track. Before the birthday weekend, I was doing fairly well keeping track of my daily food consumption in a separate notebook. I kind of stopped right before the birthday, and haven’t done so again until this morning. As I’ve mentioned in the past, I’ve recently gotten very much into making lists, and keeping track of things, so it’s working quite well for me to keep this notebook by my side all the time.

I used to do this on the Weight Watchers site - and I can’t bring myself to cancel the membership there. Sometimes I really go for it all and tally up my total POINTS for the day, out of pure curiousity as to whether or not I really do have it down in my head. Some days I’m a few points off in either direction, but I’m pretty good at estimating. Hell, I should be after so many years!

On the old site, I had a page that had low- and zero-point foods. It’s funny, but that page got more hits than any other on this entire site! I’m talking over 100 a day… just to that page. Kinda cool, I think! I need to get all that information back up again… this site used to be a great resource for people, and when it broke, and I had to start over, I lost all that information.

I know that keeping track of things is what’s going to work for me, for now… I need to get a few more good clients and I can probably go back to the gym. That’s the only workout that will do it for me, I assure you. All the DVDs in the world won’t make me work out at home… but a $300 membership to a place that’s full of all the equipment I love to use will.

I just need to start doing the grocery shopping, get up from the computer at 4pm to make dinner, and get that extra money to get to the gym. I get up at 6am every day - that’s plenty of time to grab a quick cup of coffee and a bottle of water, get over to the gym, come home, shower, and start work by 9am.

I hope everyone in the world watches TLC tonight… I’ve seen previews, and it was on the Today Show this morning… I wish someone showed me and my parents that when I was a kid!

  1. When you do get the page back up with the zero and low value food, I’d like to know about it. I lost 14kgs in 8 months with Weight Watchers last year and am watching, although still have to have some chocolate periodically :-))
