redyellowtulips 4 300x225 Spring Skincare Tips for AllHere it is, almost Spring.

Ladies, feel me on this: Just when you’re ready to switch to your yellow purse and stop wearing a coat outside, BAM! You get hit with another blasted cold front and possibly even some white, fluffy stuff falling outside. Am I right?

Guys, you’re going along with some kind of skin care program to keep your cleanly shaven face baby soft smooth, you get a couple days reprieve and then all of the sudden you’re picking white flakes off your face and wondering how the hell you made it through the entire winter without razor bumps, until now.

Dramatic climate changes can wreak havoc on your skin. Hot and dry inside, cold and wet outside… you know what I’m saying.

It’s ridiculous, I know. But never fear! I’ve got some really great skincare tips for Spring lined up for you!

The best part is that these tips are unisex. Yes, guys… you can get this stuff too and not feel like you’re crossing any metrosexual lines or anything like that. *wink*

  1. Exfoliate. I can’t stress this enough. Winter brings indoor heat which is extremely drying to the skin. Over the months, your skin becomes “thick” feeling and while you should’ve been exfoliating all winter long, if you weren’t, now’s the time. After the first time, you’ll feel like you’ve been reborn, I’m not kidding. Check out LUSH Cosmetics Spring Skincare Tips for All for all natural products, full of real-food ingredients! For exfoliating, I love Angels on Bare Skin, which not only cleanses, but exfoliates gently with all natural ingredients. This one uses almonds, and smells divine! I’ve been using LUSH for years – you should’ve seen the joy on my face the first time I walked into a LUSH store in Las Vegas! Yes, I’m addicted. You might also try PCA Skin Purifying Mask pHaze 9 Spring Skincare Tips for All for a once-a-week exfoliating treatment that’s got a little more brute force  strength.
  2. Deep cleanse. You might think you do this already, but the bottom line is that your skin has been working overtime to produce oils and moisture all winter long, and while exfoliating will break down and remove the surface layers of gunk and skin cells, you still need to get in to those pores and really get out the junk. Try Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser Spring Skincare Tips for All for daily cleansing and pore-tightening goodness.
  3. Moisturize and Protect. I know, the temptation to get some sun is so high right now, after living through the winter without it. You may even find yourself dying to get a jump start on things by running to your local tanning salon. But the truth is that come Spring, the skies open up a lot more, giving way to much stronger rays from the sun, much more often. I’ve been guilty of not protecting my skin all year round but the bottom line is that there’s a reason we start to see wrinkles and lines by the age of 30, and it’s our obsession with the sun. I’ve decided that it’s better to have soft, smooth, even-toned skin than it is to go worship the sun. I’m not completely innocent, and I’m not trying to soapbox here – but part of “living fabulous” means looking fabulous. Can’t do that with dry, wrinkly, splotchy skin, can we? Try Neutrogena Healthy Skin with SPF 15 Spring Skincare Tips for All.

With a little habit-forming behavior, your skin will recover quite nicely from the depths of winter, and be ready for glowing softness by summer!
